As our Footwear Designer II – Kids Performance, you'll produce innovative footwear designs and build a line from concept to reality under the direction of our Design Director.

You'll collaborate with Design and Category management teams to build product designs that appeal to our targeted consumers and advance Nike's design image and product performance for kids.

There is opportunity to work on multiple sports including Running and Basketball and because of the way we are structured, some cross over to lifestyle product. 

You will work on both Kids bespoke performance products and also adult encouraged collections!

You'll also proactively follow the execution of all product details, including construction, color, form, style, detail, fit, performance and cost/value requirements; produce and present materials that successfully communicate the category consumers, product concepts and creative strategy to internal and external audiences; and actively seek experienced mentorship to develop appropriate designs with regard to cost/value, fit and performance, manufacturability, sustainability, merchandising and aesthetic finish.

This opportunity also involves crafting new practices, processes and design applications to increase product value and performance. In addition, you'll utilize your knowledge of category-specific consumers and cultures to improve product performance and appearance, and proactively work with Design management and our Design Director to advance and build a personal portfolio of design skills, experiences and product and process knowledge.

Experience in mentoring / managing are a plus.

This role is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is re-writing the future of Kids footwear. 

-  Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field

-  5-7 years' experience designing and developing innovative footwear products

-  Knowledge of color, textures, human factors and form related to crafting excellent products

-  Passion for performance quality

-  Previous footwear design experience preferred

-  PhotoShop and Illustrator skills and experience with 3D design programs are a plus

-  Knowledge of manufacturing processes, plastics and other engineering materials are ideal
