Are you a proven leader who has technical experience in managing water, a passion for continuous improvement and understanding of how to drive projects across large organizations and in partnership with multi-stakeholders?

As the Global Water Director you will be accountable for setting the strategy and advancing Nike’s approach to water stewardship across its supply chain, from raw material to consumer and back again! 

This critical role on our team is acting as Nike’s subject matter expert on supply chain water stewardship across the business, including leadership presentations, internal and external communications and enterprise risk management.

We are responsible for developing the global supply chain strategy for water stewardship and setting supply chain standards/policies aligned to Nike’s foundational expectations. This is accomplished by supporting the development and operalization of tools for assessing supplier conformity to Nike’s foundational expectations, establishing global water performance targets in partnership with key internal team members and tracking, and conducting market intelligence to identify commercial innovation opportunities and standard methodologies. This leader is also responsible for assessing global supply chain water risk landscape, building internal business cases for water management improvement opportunities, and leading industry transformation partnerships on water and managing strategic partnerships. 

The Global Water Director reports to the RSC Senior Director of Environment and leads a team of direct (WHQ) and in-direct (Field) water subject matter experts. The role requires close cross-functional partnership with many internal and external stakeholders, including: Materials Sourcing & Manufacturing, Global Sustainability, Sustainable Innovation, Sustainable Product, Government and Public Affairs, Legal and Purpose Communications.

-  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Water Resource Management or related field or a combination of relevant education, experience and training

-  7+ years of experience in the area of water management

-  Strategic planning and performance management experience required

-  Clear understanding of product flows in the supply chain

-  Experience in translation of business goals into quantitative metrics and reporting

-  Ability to get results and thrive in a highly matrixed, cross-functional, cross-cultural organization

-  Ability to collaborate with key partners to understand/identify requirements, drive knowledge into action, and support data driven decision making

-  Ability to explain complex topics in a visually engaging and compelling manner to a variety of audiences

-  Strong relationship-building, facilitation, and influencing skills; ability to build trust among those with diverse personal styles

-  Consistent ability to think creatively, recognize new business opportunities, understand new technologies, and communicate ideas

-  Willingness and ability to travel

-  Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
