We are looking for a Brand Director of Basketball to work within North America’s Key City Marketing organization. You will help us create the future of sport with a specific focus on the Los Angeles marketplace.

As part of our Los Angeles marketing team, the Basketball Brand Director will be responsible for managing our brand plans and driving functional excellence within the North America offense.

This position will be responsible for leading, creating, and activating strategies that drive meaningful, daily relationships with Nike consumers. You will play an important role in the growth of the Key City offense by expertly creating brand marketing strategies and plans for one of the most important cities and dimensions within Nike.

Looking for someone who has a proven track record of leading with a clear vision and strategic approach. We’re looking for an individual with strong attention to detail, who is organized, and able to juggle multiple tasks. It’s important that you’re a proactive, self-starter who’s actively looking for ways to improve the Brand and the business. The candidate should also have a comprehensive grasp on the Basketball landscape in Los Angeles. We’re looking for a leader with vision who can help us identify new opportunities to innovate and stay attuned to popular and ground breaking consumer trends (i.e., trends across culture, digital, retail, etc.). We are driving transformation; the ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguity and be excited to help create our future.

You will be in charge of leading the Los Angeles vision & strategy for the Basketball Dimension, meeting our consumers’ needs daily, at their speed and on their terms. In this role, you and your team will be responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of marketing plans that help us authenticate the brand online and offline. This will require building integrated consumer journeys, working across functions, driving successful campaign launches, partnering on the development of creative content & experiences, and sustaining performance across all activations. This will also entail the creation and execution of primarily daily, as well as seasonal, multi-channel marketing plans focused on consumer engagement, as well as membership acquisition, retention, and reengagement, mapping back to defined Key City and holistic Basketball dimension priorities. A test-and-learn approach will underscore all work, and you will be charged with writing the playbook and unlocking new processes and “ways of working” to enhance our ability to “reach & read” consumers daily. You will work our global and geo teammates to drive a robust offense that is focused on developing meaningful relationship with athletes in LA at all levels.

This is a team sport and will require consistent collaboration, partnership, and “buy in” with critical partners to build the Brand offense of the future. Within City Brand Marketing, you will work closely with our Consumer Direct Marketing Team to identify city marketing priorities, to understand consumers’ motivations and needs across the spectrum of sport* & life, and to bring marketing plans to fruition. You will also establish a close partnership with our Brand Creative Team to ensure storytelling and deliverables are optimized against channel plans in order to enhance performance and drive LTV. In addition, you will partner with Brand Marketing Operations on end-to-end processes as well as day-to-day management of timelines, deliverables, and sustaining phases of campaigns. You will also collaborate with key members of the North America Basketball Brand Marketing team and work alongside diverse cross-functional city, geo, and global teams (both within and beyond the Brand Marketing organization)—i.e., inclusive of but not limited to Integrated Media, Consumer Insights, Nike Direct Stores Team, Social Community Impact, Finance, and Legal. You will also manage and maintain relationships with key Basketball partners in the city across athletes, leagues, teams and grassroots organizations. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the performance, lifestyle and competitive basketball landscape in Los Angeles.
