INTERNAL JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER - PHILIPPINES

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Nike is looking to hire an Operations Manager for the Philippines, based in Manila. This role will report to the Logistics Director, SEA&I territory.

This role is accountable for the end-to-end supply chain for Nike Philippines, serving the consumer in the marketplace. Managing the operations from a centralized facility in Manila, Philippines operated by a Nike partner 3PL. This individual is expected to set country strategies, manage the flow and distribution of products to our partners within these markets and lead the in-country Operations team.

Working in a matrix organization, this role is required to lead direct and virtual teams within Nike to deliver operational objectives. This role will also need to rely on strong vendor management skills to drive 3rd party logistics day-to-day performances and efficiencies. As the owner of the service, cost, and inventory metrics, he/she is expected to drive continuous improvement and traction of the key logistics KPIs towards the target that is being set.

This role will be guided according to the Global Operations & Logistics (GOaL) vision to improve Service, Cost, Convenience & Sustainability. And support GOaL strategic plan to create a Digital-First Supply Chain at Scale through 9 strategic priorities, that supports Nike Inc. overall Consumer Direct Accelerate (CDA) strategy.

This role will be part of the Country Leadership Team (CLT) working & collaborating with other functional leaders in country in making collective decisions pertaining to country matters.

To be effective you’ll need to operate at a high degree of comfort with initiative, multi-tasking, while at the same time, the ability to set a vision and prioritize deliverables across a complex body of work will be extremely important. As a people manager, this role is expected to execute the departmental strategy through providing direction, coaching, and acting as a resource for colleagues within the team.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

- Responsible for Logistics Operations and teams in Philippines marketplaces, leading importation, warehousing, distribution and returns logistics, as well as export activities with Distributors. He is expected to elevate the Operations to a world-class efficient and effective operations developing a strategic partnership with our 3PL and retailers.

- Manage 3PL contracts (Transportation and Warehousing) in line with Geo/Global guidelines.

- Accountable for managing timely shipping processes and distribution model in export Distributor models within ASEAN region and beyond.

- Proactively identify key capabilities to be developed and process improvement/ elevation opportunities within the supply chain that leads to reduced lead-times, reduced costs, inventory turnaround and drive efficiencies and enhanced service levels.

- Own the budget and forecasting targets, with timely submissions and accuracy to achieve objectives within the target.

- Drive and keep on elevating the Strategic Partnership with DC 3PL to ensure adequate capacity and resource planning that generates efficiency in productivity and costs and drive key capability development forward.

- Drive disciplined inventory control processes within the warehouse, that is in line to Nike compliance standards, to maintain high levels of inventory integrity.

- Leads the planning, on-time availability of products, working with the marketplace Operations and Logistics team to establish and share best practices, focus to be led with inbound shipment planning.

- Responsible for driving on-time and in-full deliveries to customers in the marketplace.

- Manage the logistics execution for the returns process and ensure timely put back to stock to maximize inventory availability.

- Track shipment goals in daily/monthly/quarterly level, by managing discussions around DC processing capacity and order availability/flow.

- Active leadership in cross-functional country meetings, offering logistics expertise as an enabler to the country goals and strategy.

- Leverage on the territory network to promote and receive best practice sharing of expert knowledge.

- Lead and develop the team and establish bench strength.

- Be aware of new innovations/trends in Supply Chain and promote adoption when possible.

- Drive sustainable E2E Supply Chain practices.

- Adoption of LEAN principles and having Flow Mindset, in the execution of the daily operations.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

- The role will have direct reports supporting E2E operations. Operations functions are divided into Planning and Partner Management.

- This role will closely work with the Country Leadership & Integrated Marketplace Teams.

- This role will have various interactions with territory Finance & Operations teams such as Goods Flow Planning (GFP), Center Of Excellence (COE), Performance Management & Operations leadership

- This role will also be interacting with Geo teams on various matters.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

- Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree.

- At least 10 years expertise in Logistics Management, Supply Chain or a related field with deep knowledge Philippines marketplace (3PL partners, Accounts and Consumers).

- Is exposed to multi-cultural environment.

- Is an expert in end-to-end supply chain, Inbound planning and execution, Warehousing elevation and efficiencies through 3PL/ Partners management and outbound distribution.

- Develops strategic visioning about future market & services requirements, can translate them into key capabilities

- Hands-on attitude that can translate vision to effective implementation, strong attention to detail.

- Team: ability to manage bigger & diverse teams in different locations, strong leadership identity and effective communication skills

- Team player who is able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Able to work closely with internal stakeholders in a matrix organization. Strong ability to integrate x-functionally and apply elevate planning skills.

- Experience in bonded operations and export distribution model is advantageous.

- Demonstrable ability to deliver work assignments/projects on time and to agreed requirements.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Financial management and KPI reporting experience.

- Ability to work both independently but also within a collaborative team environment.

- Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

- A capacity to operate in a rapidly changing environment.

- Proven ability to work confidentially and productively with a high level of tact, diplomacy and flexibility.

- Advanced computer skills required for Windows Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project, in addition to Outlook and web-based applications.
