Will serve as a driving force for building solutions in Beaverton, OR. Will work on development projects related to consumer behavior, commerce, and web analytics. Will design and build reusable components, frameworks and libraries at scale to support analytics products. Will design and implement product features in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders. Will anticipate, identify and solve issues concerning data management to improve data quality. Will clean, prepare and optimize data at scale for ingestion and consumption. Will drive the implementation of new data management projects and the re-structure of the current data architecture. Will implement complex automated workflows and routines using workflow scheduling tools. Will build continuous integration, test-driven development and production deployment frameworks. Will drive collaborative reviews of design, code, test plans and dataset implementation performed by other data engineers in support of maintaining data engineering standards. Will analyze and profile data for the purpose of designing scalable solutions. Will troubleshoot complex data issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues. Will mentor and develop other data engineers in adopting best practices. Will work with NoSQL data stores, including HBase and DynamoDB. Will work with AWS cloud (EC2, EMR, and S3) and big data streaming services, including SQS, Kinesis, and Kafka. Will build domain-driven Microservices. Will provision RESTful API’s to enable real-time data consumption. Will work with Python and Java. Will work with Hadoop, Amazon Web Services, and big data processing frameworks, including Spark, Hive, and Airflow. Will work with relational databases utilize experience with SQL and SQL Analytical functions. Will participate in key business, architectural and technical decisions. Will design, estimate, and execute complex software projects. Will provide guidance and mentor junior engineer. Will travel domestically and internationally five percent or less.  


Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology. Will also accept a master's degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology. Experience: A Bachelors degree and five years of experience in big data. Will also Except master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology and three years of experience in big data Skills/Requirements3 years of experience: (1) big data streaming services, including Kinesis and Kafka; (2) ETL development in a big data environment and working with NoSQL data stores, including HBase and DynamoDB; (3) building domain-driven microservices; (4) provisioning RESTful API’s to enable real-time data consumption; (5) working with Python and Java; (6) working with Hadoop, Amazon Web Service, and big data processing frameworks, including Spark, Hive, and Spark-Streaming; (7) working with SQL and SQL Analytical functions; (8) designing, estimating, and executing complex software projects; and (9) providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
