As our Trend Designer II, you’ll work under the direction of Global Design’s Trend Leadership to research and analyze trend-leading consumers and the design and lifestyle shifts driving change in sport and culture. 
You’ll work with cross-functional groups including Design, Brand, Innovation, Product Marketing, Merchandising, Global Consumer Knowledge, Marketing and Strategy and deliver actionable insights that are both directional and consumer relevant.

In this role, you will continuously drive trend excellence and deliver concepts (both long-range and seasonal) that are grounded in robust consumer intelligence and data, utilizing a combination of sources and methods, including interviews, consumer studies, market intel and design foresight.

In addition, you'll maintain a database of trend research that allows Nike Design and related functions to track trend evolution not only from season to season, but looking longer term to inform strategy.


·Bachelor degree in Design, Art, Fashion, Design Strategy, Journalism, Sociology, Anthropology, or related field with 5-7 years' relevant work experience in a design or product environment, working with trends and consumer insights.

·Clear understanding of trend research and methodology and a natural ability to unearth emerging patterns of change.

·Excellent communication skills and the talent to engage with a wide variety of audience types. 

·Proficiency to support trend workshops and ideation sessions. 

·Interview, focus group and consumer engagement capabilities. Tireless information seeker. 

·Excellent presentation skills. Trusted synthesis of consumer attitudes, opinions and behaviors and the ability to develop research and analysis within set timelines.

·Strong visual communication skills. Storyboarding and video editing ability are not required but are a definite plus. 

·Working knowledge and understanding of the various generational cohorts in today’s consumer landscape, as well as an awareness of how each group is changing. Fascination with diverse cultures, societal shifts and human behaviors. 

·Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group and to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources.
