PURPOSE
Lead the consumer strategy of the Nike Basketball category in North China Territory

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DELIVERABLE

BRING CONSUMER ORIENTATION & CONNECTED MINDSET

  • Lead the consumer strategy of the category in the city and ensure that it advances the Key City and the overall category agendas.
  • Lead insights—consumer, product and marketplace—orchestrating across brand and city team; own the implications of insights and make them actionable; be the lead category consumerist in the city
  • Wire insights to Geo and Global partners for development and scaling opportunities
  • Define and adjust as needed the model of influence for the category to ensure partnerships with relevant (in partnership with brand) with the right athletes, retailers, media partners, influencers, entertainers, leagues, teams, and key city partners (local government, city landmarks, etc.) that are most relevant to the city consumer
  • Ensure we serve our city consumers at the right moments in the right places with the right depth, building premium consumer journeys that exceed consumer expectations
  • Identify leading-edge new marketplace opportunities, particular focus on new digital platforms/concepts gaining traction with consumers

WIN AT THE MOMENT OF TRUTH, LEAD EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Drive x-functional category execution in city; connect the best stories, events and services across
  • Marketing and Marketplace, prioritizing and making trade-off decisions; Partner with Nike Direct and category key account teams to focus on how the Brand comes to life in key doors and digital channels
  • Define the must-win trade zones and key doors across the IMP, influencing through the matrix
  • Obsess defined Key doors and digital, ensuring that the category shows up in the marketplace in line with the Global/Geo category vision
  • Seek opportunities to grow NIKE membership

KNOW & INFLUENCE THE MARKET FOR GROWTH

  • Know your category marketplace in the city; provide regular business insights—including
  • opportunities across product, consumer shifts and marketplace trends—to drive action
  • Drive and track category growth KPIs, find the gaps and opportunities
  • Read and react to business results on a weekly basis to drive action
  • Elevate a [quarterly] pulse report to Global & Geo partners; report the why, not the news
