The Nike, Inc. Supply Chain team is the engine that propels product around the world. Supply Chain experts ensure that every year, almost a billion units of footwear, apparel and equipment arrive at the right place, at the right time. To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accountants, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide — making the impossible happen every single day.


In this role, you are responsible for leading your team and to manage the strategy, direction and implementation of customs & trade programs, including day-to-day compliance operations. You will develop, lead, coach, drive and inspire your team. You will organize and control effectively and add demonstrable value to the department in the execution of customs & trade processes. The Director Customs & Trade will coach, inspire and develop you further, meaning that your talent will never cease to grow.

Successful candidates will possess strong Leadership and management skills, analytical capabilities, deep communication skills, and a passion for E2E supply chain operations. You will also have a strong service mindset, the ability to look end-to-end across the value chain and think from the consumer. Additionally, they will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with different functions across a matrix organization, focus on achieving practical business impact and work at both working team and executive levels.

As a trade Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership that excels in establishing solid teams and driving performance.
  • Lead, manage and support your team in day-to-day operations.
  • Develop methodologies to measure and ensure operational KPI’s are being met.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements, determine impact to the organization and coordinate implementation of compliance plan.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive self-assessment audit plan considering risk areas, operational processes and management reporting.
  • Work with and maintain strong connection to Global Trade Department (WHQ) and Governmental and Public Affairs (GPA) in Brussels.
  • Develop and maintain a respectful, and positive relationship with authorities at all levels.
  • The position is based near Antwerp, Belgium.


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading a team for a major organization.
  • Strong cross-functional management capability to drive timely business impact working with diversified teams.
  • Strong people management capability.
  • Bias for action, drive for results while demonstrating positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, with capacity to interact with all levels in the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving capability to tackle complicated issues.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with customs & trade compliance processes.
