Global Lab Mission: Create innovative testing solutions for global footwear products.

The primary responsibility for this position is to manage the Lab Operations and Systems at our contract manufacturing partners as well as all related functions and levels within the Nike office. This individual will work closely across Nike Inc. and multiple functions - category, materials, engineering, manufacturing, finance, etc. - to deliver scientific-based data and testing solutions. The role is part of the greater Nike lab team community that sets & executes lab strategy.

Core Accountabilities:

·Manages employees and sets individual goals that link to departmental priorities. Coaches staff, supports development, makes hiring decisions, and drives performance management, recognition and rewards.

·Coaches extended teams (factories/vendors) to drive lab-related initiatives & programs.

·Sets the direction for the local testing organization to address product testing needs. Ensures functional and operational strategies and programs are in place to support both new and on-going business development testing needs for integration into new products.

·Oversees new test method development and test process improvement projects that are in compliance with internal and external standards. Sets the direction for engineers and technicians on implementing new test methods, technologies and processes.

·Creates and implements training programs to institutionalize new methodologies and practices.

·Ensures all test-related procedures, results and reports are documented and properly archived.

·Oversees proper operation and maintenance of all lab equipment.

Requirements of this position include:

·Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, or minimum 10 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree

·Broad understanding of product testing, analyzing and reporting

·Excellent English Language (written and spoken)

·Good organizational skill and ability to work with little or no direct supervision.

·Proven interpersonal, problem-solving, coaching, presentation, consulting and communication skills

·Understanding of Lean culture and implementation

·Ability to travel up to 10% - locally and overseas
