Description
As our Design Assist you will maintain correct sketches for use in line art database. You'll combine illustrations, text, product data, photos, and graphics as needed. You'll work with category team to define and produce product image collections in both printed and electronic formats.

You'll meet deadlines for creation and distribution of documents to matrix partners. You'll understand and follow Nike global standards for document structure and layout. You'll perform paste-up and trimming on large format documents for business meetings. You'll duplicate and distribute documents to category and regional partners for use in the apparel commercialization process. You'll communicate with product line managers, designers, graphic designers, developers, and others about the status of product and product images. In addition, you'll review product status, project status, and production deadlines with category and geography business partners.

·Support and Leverage Digital Enablement. Support and evangelize any and all creative tools that advance the Design agenda.
·Maintain collaborative working relationships and be a positive influence.
·Effective Communication: Demonstrate communication skills, actively listen and Seek information. Respond in a timely fashion to email and voicemail.
·Outreach. Go out of your way to connect, communicate, and interact with our related “Triad” Functions- Design, Product Management and Tech-Dev.


You will execute color across multiple product types. You'll partner with the Sr Color Designer and Product Design team on the category-specific direction of color and applying color blocking strategies and stories on a seasonal basis. You'll also research and deliver color, design, market and lifestyle trends that impact the product category process from product briefing to sales samples; collaborate with our Materials Designer and Design, Product Marketing and Development teams to focus color solutions for market success; and finalize product details, including the color execution for each product. In addition, you'll review all samples to achieve marketable solutions and maintain color calendar timelines and deadlines in order to ensure the timely completion of each product.
·Creates compelling, trend-right and industry-defining Color work with a high level of taste and style.
·Executes palettes based on category and global color strategy that was created by Sr Color Designer and is influenced by Product Designer.
·Successfully plans and executes Color work with strategic thinking. Delivers product details, reviews all samples, troubleshoots achievability issues in a proactive and timely manner.
·Conducts in-depth research on consumer trends, consumer insights, and analyses of competitive sets, for their focused market segment/category.
·Collaborates with material designers and product designers to achieve desired color effects.
·Consistently demonstrates process proficiency through best practices, visualization and communication of ideas using digital tools.
·Communicates effectively with solid presentation skills to varied audiences, large and small.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Design, Art or a related field with 2-4 years' relevant experience or an Associate's of Art degree from an accredited art school with 4 years' experience in a design environment working with colors, palette development and/or color trends
Knowledge of the product design and development process
Familiarity with product manufacturing processes, including materials, fabrics, plastics and pigments
High Level of Mac Computer skills- Adobe CS Illustrator and Photoshop
Knowledge of CAD programs, preferably in Mac environment
Thorough knowledge of art and design with a clear understanding of visual design concepts including color mixing, color compatibility and color placement
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organization skills, able to multitask effectively
