We exist to serve athletes. The Brand Specialist for Nike Direct is a new role to help drive distinction in the marketplace by levering the best of Nike.

As the Brand Specialist for Nike Direct Stores, you will be responsible for delivering on the overall strategy inclusive of service, connected storytelling, high level executions, product access and experiences. This role will be responsible for shaping the future of Nike retail via the implementation of global strategies and amplifying through local insights and opportunities to serve the consumer.

You will look to make the Nike Direct Stores a key driver in our Win Joburg focus. This role will require seamless integration with Category, Digital Direct leads, and the Influencer Manager to craft dynamic consumer engagement opportunities that ensure Nike Direct Stores are the #1 consumer retail experience in South Africa. 


Requirements for this includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business related required.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of overall experience in consumer marketing or related experience
  • Experience with sports, premium brands and style brands and consumers
  • Understand the competitive market, customers and retail trends
  • Must be able to understand complex business issues, find creative ways to solve problems, and make sound decisions that benefit Nike.
  • Must have a consumer focus and be able to translate insight and trends with actionable business plans.
  • Must be able to recognize creative and innovative business opportunities and take advantage of them.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to motivate and mentor others within work group.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across different levels.   
  • Proven ability to prioritize workloads, manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results
  • Proven social media/digital experience
  • Effective presentation skills, to both small and large audiences.
