NIKE MILITARY VETERANS
Leadership continues
FOUNDATION OF SERVICE
Nike has always believed in the outstanding values and character found in the military from the time of our founding in 1964 by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman, who both served in the military. Phil Knight enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served one year on active duty and seven years in the Army Reserve. In addition to being a world-class track coach, Bill Bowerman served as a commissioned officer with the 10th Mountain Division during World War II and was recognized for his heroism in World War II through award of the Silver Star and four Bronze stars. Nike is proud to continue the legacy of our co-founders and to be an employer of choice for both veterans and military spouses, and continue to honor and celebrate our military employees and their service.
SUPPORTING NONPROFITS THAT SERVE OUR TROOPS
WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF SPORT.
NIKE MILITARY VETERANS & FRIENDS NETWORK
Nike Military Veterans & Friends (NMV) is one of our eight employee networks and provides teammates (veterans and non-veterans) with opportunities to engage at work and in the community. We bring awareness and provide support for issues that are important to the veteran community.
