About our team

The Converse Global Supply Chain Innovation (SCI) team is responsible for developing and implementing the vision and strategy for the Converse supply chain of the future. We lead supply chain strategy, portfolio management, investment management, governance, performance management, analytics, and culture excellence for the Global Operations organization.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for a Strategic Portfolio Director.

This role is responsible for strategic planning, governance, and investment management for Operations as a part of the Global Supply Chain Innovation team.

The candidate must have expertise in Strategic planning, Financial planning or Investment management, Portfolio management or governance processes, and project management.

We’re seeking a self-starter with strong project management, stakeholder management, and strategic and analytical thinking skills. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to be flexible and navigate dynamic environments will be keys to success.

What you will work on

You’ll be working with Global Supply Chain Innovation team members, Operations Leadership, Geography Operations, Technology, Finance and other functional teams to drive the process to develop the multi-year Supply Chain Innovation strategy, the development of the annual plan, lead the Operations Governance process, and manage investments across Operations functions.

A day in the life of the Global Supply Chain Innovation team is highly cross-functional and the focus spans across strategy creation through strategy implementation. You will manage the process with the Global SCI team and Operations Leadership team to develop the multi-year Supply Chain Innovation strategy. This includes facilitating cross-functional strategy planning work sessions to identify required capabilities and collaborate with key business partners across global and geography functions to define key investments required across the strategic planning cycle. You will develop the annual investment plan and the multi-year investment plan. You will curate executive-level presentations to communicate the multi-year strategy and annual strategic plan to leadership teams and required reporting for business reviews.

You will spearhead Operations Governance process to assess and approve investments, guide investments through Nike, Inc. governance processes and manage and track investment progress through tools. You will lead annual investment planning process for Global Operations inclusive of gathering investment requests, assessing strategic alignment, developing recommendations and providing guidance to team members on case development as needed. You will evolve project management tools and methodologies for the Operations organization.

You will collaborate with Global Finance to deploy and manage Operations functions' budgets across Operations functions and lead Steering Committees to drive decision-making and governance processes.

Who you will work with

You will report to the Senior Director of Global Supply Chain Innovation. In this role you will partner with other Global Supply Chain Innovation team members within Converse, Nike, and across geographies - partnering with Operations and Technology teams, Corporate Strategy and Finance teams as well as other business function teams.

What you bring
  • At least 7 years’ of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Project management, Strategic/ strategy planning, Financial planning or related fields
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of financial planning and investment management within corporations, and supply chain, technology, and operations functions
  • Expertise in leading cross-functional teams through dynamic planning processes
  • Strong business partner relationship management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with team members across functions and geographies and at all levels through an open, engaging, and collaborative style
  • Confirmed talent to lead with curiosity and ability to think creatively
  • Proven skill to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and develop financial models
  • Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, and performing simultaneous projects and activities
  • Strong meeting and group facilitation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong financial savvy
  • Demonstrated talent to quickly assess situations, identify problems, and offer clear and concise plans to resolve them
  • Confirmed capability to work well under pressure and to adapt quickly to change
