WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Senior Media Specialist Jordan to join our Tokyo-based Marketing team. This position plays an important role in building the integrated media strategy for the brand, driving strategic plans, implementation, and results analysis. Our candidate will focus on execution for the Jordan brand across Sport, Streetwear and Energy fields of play. Experience in planning, buying and executing media with a passion for basketball and streetwear are key. This role will bring creative thinking and thrive working and collaborating with a team, while playing the role responsibly.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
As our Integrated Media leader for Jordan brand in Japan, you will create the integrated media strategy, while working in a team to build media plans that execute our brand concepts to reach consumers through paid media channels.
You will drive functional excellence from upper to lower funnel, planning investments in brand media such as Out Of Home (OOH) advertising, Digital Out Of Home (D-OOH) advertising, digital and performance media such as affiliate, paid search, social and online marketing (OLM). This includes writing briefs and managing agency partnerships, while recapping work to measure results. Programming excellence, channel innovation, effective audience targeting, and data connectivity are part of your agenda, including experimentation with new formats and technologies. Integrating plans to connect our consumer seamlessly to digital experiences and marketing activations will be critical. You will be responsible for planning and managing a budget with the operations team, ensuring that we maximize our resources to deliver on time.
Success will be measured based on increases in our brand strength, consumer engagement, membership and business growth.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
In this role you will report directly into the Director, Jordan Brand Marketing Streetwear of the Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography, based at Nike World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, United States. You will dotted-line report to the Director, Integrated Media Japan, in the Nike Tokyo Office. You will work with a cross-functional marketing team to bring to life big ideas and solve problems including Brand Management, Brand Creative, Digital Marketing and Retail Marketing while maintaining effective partnerships with Brand Planning & Operations, Communications and Legal. You will partner with the APLA geography and Global Brand Marketing teams across Jordan brand to provide consumer insights, align campaign measurement and ensure precision in leveraging creative that reflects our brand standards across our channels. Your key external partners are local media, creative and marketing agencies that will be working on our storytelling.
WHAT YOU BRING?
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or anything equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in media or related experience in brand marketing or digital marketing including cross-functional business acumen.
Strong oral and written communication skills (in Japanese and English).
High interest or background in media and brand storytelling across media channels.
Genuine appetite and understanding of the Gen-Z consumer in Tokyo, Jordan brand, aware of trends and usage of digital and social platforms.
Ability to think strategically, work cross-functionally, multi-task, manage budgets and work effectively with internal and external partner.
Ability to utilize data, analytics and insights to effectively inform strategy and execution across media channels.
