On the NIKE Footwear Product Creation team our work starts with understanding the needs of our consumer and ends with delivering products that exceed those needs. Our technical and project management skills allow us to contribute to the design of new products.  We ensure that those products perform at the level our consumers demand, are able to be produced at scale and at a cost that is on target, and are delivered to our customers on time.

In the role of a Nike Associate Footwear Intern you will work across functions to create the world’s most innovative footwear products.  You will be responsible for understanding the needs of the athlete* and applying that understanding to develop new concepts, solve problems, and identify means to improve performance. You will be asked to work cooperatively on initiatives within the team and be exposed to the cross-functional Nike matrix. Product Creation, Global Sourcing and Manufacturing, Innovation, etc.). 

This role involves solving complex challenges and bringing new perspective to existing processes and solutions. Intern opportunities exist within the following areas:

  • Footwear Materials Development
  • Footwear Product Testing
  • Cost Engineering
  • Product Engineering 
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a Polymer Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Textiles or related field
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Graduation date of Winter 2021 or Spring 2022
  • Knowledge of materials, formation, construction, and manufacturing 
  • Knowledge of footwear sourcing, global processes, and events from product concept to delivery is preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, remain flexible, be results-oriented and work within a matrixed organization 
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications
