About the Japan Inventory Operationsteam

Being a part of Japan Inventory Operations team is not just about managing inventory. It’s about how Nike can serve the consumers with the best use of Nike inventory. Inventory operations team achieve this by strong partnership with End-to-End cross functions to serve the consumer better.

About the role

Data driven insights are a competitive advantage for Nike and an essential part of the service we provide to our Consumers. Creating these insights require a capability to source, organize and present data into meaningful insights that resonates with the business strategy of our stakeholders. You will be coaxing the business along on a cultural change journey.

We are looking to add an Analyst to the Inventory Operations team to deliver the SRI forecasting process, run inventory health management, and enable inventory flexibility capabilities. You’ll succeed through intimate collaboration with Nike Direct, Wholesales, Supply Chain Innovation, Logistics, Marketplace Operations, S&IP partners across the end-to-end supply chain. 

Responsibilities:

1.Japan SRI - Cerate Inventory Forecast by closely working with cross functions and submit in monthly SRI.

2.KPI management - Drive performance management process and metrics such as full-price/off-price DSI, Close out%, Aged and Hash inventory.

3.Closed Loop Planning – Drive conversation on gap/excess in off-price inventory with cross functional teams such as NFS (Nike Factory Stores) and Nike Direct Finance team in order to maximize NFS revenue with appropriate level of inventory. Drive conversation on SKU management for warehouse capacity management.

4.Inventory Health Review – Drive Geo/ Territory Inventory Health Review meeting and lead conversations amongst countaerparts and stakeholders. Provide insights on Inventory actuals and forecasts both in full-price and off-price, align risk and opportunities, and discuss next actions in order to maintain KPI’s.

5.Target Setting – Drive inventory operations target setting process with region to ensure key metrics and targets are aligned.

6.Divert/ Stock Transfers – Propose and execute divert and intercompany stock transfers from/to other region & territories to fulfill gap/excess on inventory demand vs supply.

7.Inventory Reporting – Run and execute regular and ad-hoc reporting.


Requirements:

We are looking for a team player with passion for Data, Reporting & Performance Management. It would be advantageous for candidates to have as many of the below skills, though not all are expected:

  1. University degree or 3+ years of experience in inventory performance management or planning/operating organization.
  2. Relevant experience in reporting, analyzing big data, identifying critical information, developing hypothesis, and making proposal and recommendations.
  3. Strong problem-solving capability to tackle complicated issues with cross functions.
  4. Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, with capacity to interact with all levels in the organization.
  5. Bias for action, drive for results while demonstrating positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  6. Business level fluency in both Japanese and English.
