WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As the Principal, Business HR (BHR), Stores partner, you will report to the Senior Director, Business HR (BHR), Nike Stores. You’ll collaborate with various HR functions and business leaders across a highly matrixed organization to help build and implement a Functional HR Strategy across multiple teams and business units.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We seek a passionate Principal, Business Human Resources (BHR) partner to help develop a Firstline people strategy and implement key HR programs, practices, and policies for the Stores business, its leaders, and Firstline employees!

Our BHR partners offer strategic consultation and coaching to executive and corporate leaders, addressing organizational challenges that drive business and team growth. We’re looking for a leader with an entrepreneurial mindset to be a key partner and advocate for our Firstline Retail teams. This role involves sensing and listening to needs, collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and People Solutions specialists in service of driving retail right solutions at scale that contribute to the Firstline Retail employee experience and the growth of the stores business.

  • 8+ years of experience of demonstrated business-facing HR experience or similar role or relevant experience leading teams in a retail environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and training.

  • Well-developed industry knowledge, market insight, and proven enterprise thinking.

  • Ability to work in ambiguity and adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrate strong executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills across all organizational levels, as well as develop strong partnerships with business leaders, particularly in helping them manage significant organizational change during periods of realignment and growth.

  • Experience leading or partnering with Org Design/Org Effectiveness, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Recruiting, and Total Rewards is preferred.

  • Proven experience setting and leading complex organizational effectiveness and design initiatives, as well as multi-year talent strategies is preferred.

  • Retail experience and retail acumen either in HR or senior store leadership is preferred.


WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will be responsible for building organizational alignment and capability through development of appropriate Firstline Retail focused enhancements, programs and initiatives anchored to Nike Inc. Employee Value Proposition (EVP). 

  • Oversee strategic workforce plans that align with business strategies and objectives, using diagnostic skills and core metrics to guide COEs in creating innovative HR solutions on behalf of Firstline Retail.

  • Provide HR expertise on business strategies and offer sound business insights to leaders and teams.

  • Engage in the strategic focus around the talent pipeline, succession planning, career development, and functional excellence.

  • Share business insights with COEs and Employee Services to help them design and create business-focused solutions.
