Senior Data Engineer–Nike Inc., Beaverton, OR. Develop data engineering capabilities data engineering pipelines from conception to operationalization while demonstrating an understanding of the full software development lifecycle. Design and implement scalable and secure Machine Learning & Data Products that bring Data Science applications or Business Intelligence applications live to have an immense business impact. Advise product owners on discrete technology-related business problems; formulates options, including assessing their relative merits and risks. Assess a well-defined problem and lead the development of a technical solution that meets the needs of the business and aligns with architectural standards. Build utilities, user defined functions, libraries, and frameworks to better enable data flow patterns. Implement complex automated routines using workflow orchestration tools. Anticipate, identify and tackle issues concerning data management to improve data quality. Build and incorporate automated unit tests and participate in integration testing efforts. Utilize and advance continuous integration and deployment frameworks. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY. 

Must have a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics and 2 years of experience in the position offered or in a Engineer-related occupation. Experience must include: 

 

  • Data Pipeline and workflow orchestration 
  • Data Ingestion, Processing and Transformation 
  • Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive and S3 
  • Big Data and Data Warehousing 
  • Programing Languages (Python, SQL, Pyspark) 
  • Docker and Containerization 
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Machine Learning.
