The Nike Global Trade and Customs team within Supply Chain Operations is dedicated to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH 

In this role, you will work with key partners across the global trade network and functional executives to help build and sustain a world class trade governance operating structure. While this role has no direct reports, it requires a large amount of influence and partnership.  

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

As  Lead, Global Trade and Customs Governance  you will be responsible for driving and supporting the governance of global trade and customs processes, with a focus on ensuring compliance, managing risk, and delivering continuous improvement across global trade operations. Leading cross-functional teams, coordinating projects, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and best practices will be some of your key responsibilities. As Lead, you will serve as a key facilitator for various governance projects, including audits, compliance initiatives, and transition management activities, while supporting a high-performing and self-organizing team. 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in global trade, customs compliance, supply chain management, or similar role, with at least [5] years in a leadership or project management role. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Law, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Master’s degree is a plus. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, resolve conflicts, and guide teams through complex project landscapes will help you succeed in this role. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON 

Your proven experience in managing large-scale projects, audits, or compliance programs within a global trade environment will be key assets to this role. In addition, your expertise in facilitating agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira) will help guide the team through a complex evolution of the existing governance processes in a multinational environment. 

  

  • Project Leadership and Facilitation: As Lead, you will facilitate project team meetings, road-mapping sessions, and gather feedback from stakeholders at all levels of leadership. In addition, you will be responsible for providing high-level tracking and status updates using existing trade best practices, including tools such as Jira, advanced roadmaps, dashboards, and 1-pagers. 
  • Audit Support and Governance: You will provide audit support and governance expertise to establish and Executive Steering Committee, with clear roles and responsibilities, and trade operating model documentation, and ensure smooth execution and follow-through of audit-related actions and recommendations. 
  • Continuous Improvement and Stakeholder Engagement: You will provide support to the team in benchmarking documentation and capturing key learnings from global trade initiatives. The ability to maintain effective communication across teams, external stakeholders, and management to gain respect and buy-in for governance strategies will be key to this position. 
  • Transition Management and Stakeholder Adoption: Driving the change management process by managing communication, training, and support for the adoption of changes across our stakeholders is of prime importance for your role. Responsibilities you will manage and execute include socialization and adoption of the new operating model by key stakeholders. 
  • Agile Leadership and Team Development: You will guide the team in agile activities, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, while resolving conflicts through effective arbitration, negotiation, or escalation when necessary.  
  • Backlog Management and Cross-Team Coordination: As Lead, you will manage and grooming the project backlog and ensure effective cross-team coordination and collaboration. 

  • Metrics and Progress Monitoring: Your will maintain and report on relevant metrics that provide organizational visibility into team performance, project progress, and issue resolution. In addition, you will support data-driven decision-making by delivering insights on the team’s impact, challenges, and areas for improvement.
