Merchandising Operations is an enabling partner for Nike Merchandising functions that bring innovation and consumer concepts to life through a defined line architecture and creation process. Merchandising Operations leads process excellence, innovation and drives calendar cadence within the merchandising community. The team continuously drives data accuracy, efficiencies in product data management, and system and tools training. The department plays an essential role in supporting the business by being responsible for a one-team mentality. Merchandising Information is one of three pillars within the Merchandising Operations organization, next to Merchandising Process Excellence and Merchandising Pricing.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The candidate needs to have the following functional competencies:

  • Communication: A mix of communication skills is required to move co-workers to action. Influences ways of working and maintain a sound collaboration. The person is not afraid to speak up while at the same time receive, interpret directions efficiently.
  • Analytics: A blend of analytical skills is required to validate data and align between consumer segments. The person needs a high systems affinity & strong working knowledge of Excel. Users will create ad hoc reports as well as deliver self-service solutions. (including setting up spreadsheets, formulas, etc.). Having experience with Tableau is a big plus.
  • Team: Strong teammate with a positive attitude who supports peers and prioritizes team success. Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with upstream & downstream functions. Proactively approach self-development seeking and acting on feedback from peers & leaders

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As the Jordan Merchandise Information Specialist (MIS), you will:

  • Ensure Merchandisers work in the most effective and efficient ways by demonstrating co-ownership of process execution within your consumer segment.
  • Proactively communicate upcoming seasonal dates and gates to the Consumer Merchandisers as well as related partners.
  • Execute the directed GEO line plan adoption and maintain product attributes in the merchandising system of records (MMX and AV).
  • Lead the data consistency between merchandising systems and downstream systems.
  • Provide one on one training to merchandisers within your consumer segmentation on tools and systems as well as on processes.
  • Engage as a subject matter specialist in the preparation and implementation of any future system/tool functionality and support a smooth transition.
  • Coordinate and participate in seasonal sample packing and unpacking sessions. The received samples are used by merchandisers and in seasonal meetings.
  • Facilitate the Product Request Tracker process for Jordan, through timely communication with relevant stakeholders, and by taking ownership of the seasonal template.
  • Facilitate the Key Looks process for Jordan, through pro-active cross-functional communication with relevant stakeholders, and by ensuring the seasonal tools around Key Looks are maintained through the various Code gates.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be reporting to the Sr.Manager Jordan Operations, and you will have a dotted reporting line into a Nike Merchandising Information Manager. You will work closely with the Jordan Merchandising team. You will be part of the wider Nike Merchandising Operations team as well, and you will also collaborate with other Merchandising functions and have continuous touchpoints with MPO, DSM, and Pricing.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Process management skills & experience. Prior participation in project teams is preferred.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Product affinity/industry knowledge.
  • Language: Fluent English. Both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Influencing skills to drive processes into the business
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to validate data and communicate to a broader audience.
  • Extensive Excel knowledge, including data manipulation, pivot tables, and functions/formulas. Working in Excel regularly and using it as a tool to deliver easy-to-use reports to our business partners.
