WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Principal, Sport Insights role is a critical member of the Jordan Insights & Analytics leadership team, reporting to the Vice President of Consumer Science & Insights. As a member of the Consumer Insights function you will drive a consumer-centric culture to better serve consumers by integrating the voice of the Athlete* across Sport in functions including Merchandising, Design, Marketing, DSM, and Global/Geo Teams.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Consumer Insights expert to lead the Jordan Brand’s Sport Field of Play Insights & Analytics forward. You must be an effective storyteller with the ability to synthesize multiple cultural data points to produce compelling and concise strategic recommendations across the organization.
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology, Design Research/Human Factors or similar with 8+ years of proven experience in consumer research
Must have direct experience leading all aspects of a project – from planning to in-field execution and delivery
Experience with developing and interpreting customers, competitors, and retail trends; with knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred
Demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of business drivers and independently and creatively apply analytics capabilities against the highest priorities
Exceptional ability to understand complex topics, translate them into relevant conclusions/deliverables, and develop and deliver meaningful presentations, visualizations, and infographics
Extensive experience synthesizing and packaging complex analyses and delivering results to non-technical audiences including senior leadership teams
Skilled in moderating and facilitating individual and/or group interviews
Ability to manage and maintain the rigor and credibility of a portfolio of research projects
A self-starter who can work across multiple teams, and has strong history of building collaborative business partner relationship
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON?
You will lead Sport research initiatives to understand and translate consumer motivations and behaviors into relevant and ownable insights for the Jordan Brand and Business. Partnering with a diverse range of stakeholders, you will drive research projects to identify actionable insights that can impact functions across the enterprise - stretching from innovation to product development to brand communications.
You will also contribute to the building and maintenance of research standards and capabilities that allow for teams across the organization to effectively conduct or manage research projects on their own. You will explore and identify how evolving culture and emerging consumer trends translate into relevant product needs, unique messages and ownable brand communications to keep Jordan growing and ahead of our consumers and competition.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Synthesize macro, athlete*, marketplace trends, alongside quantitative and qualitative data to drive actionable insights leading to strategies and concepts that will inform the brand, influence product creation, and drive business growth
Evangelize fact-based decision making– partnering with teammates across the brand to improve data literacy and elevate the role of insights to inform long-term strategies and seasonal planning/execution
Align insight deliverables across business gates; communicating insights generated with cohesive, understandable, and appropriate presentations and immersive experiences
Identify opportunities to drive growth aligned with Jordan Brand’s strategic priorities
